The Museum of the Cherokee People’s December 29 event Party Like it’s 1998: A New Year for the Museum of the Cherokee People is featured in this week’s Mountain Xpress “Around Town.” The section also highlights potter Tara McCoy (Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians) and her work with UNC Asheville. McCoy, who leads the Gadugi Pottery Workshop at the Museum, will speak about the workshop and her students’ work at Party Like it’s 1998. She is also a featured artist in Disruption, on view at the Museum through December 29.
