Total Salary Range: $40,000 – $60,000 

Hiring Range: $40,000 – $52,000

The essential goals and role of the Manager of Development are to:  

• Provide structure to MotCP’s Development arm including but not limited to fundraising, donor development, membership, etc.  

• Donor/member/sponsor identification and development. 

• Engages, recruits, trains and manages relationships with volunteers and customers to successfully execute fundraising plans and achieve revenue goals. 

• Models and fosters behavior that establishes a culture that values the staff/volunteer partnership and is consistent with the mission vison values of MotCP. 

• Assist Executive Director in creating written processes for donor and member development.  

• Manage donor software, including generating, tracking, and maintaining data and reports.   

• Monitors financial expenditures and measures budget to meet top and bottom-line goals ensuring a high return on investment. 

• Managing task lists, calendars, and action items. 

• Identifying prospective funders. 

• Event planning and coordination. 

• Ongoing donor development and communication.  

• Manages Development related work groups, task forces, and committees.  

• Actively solicit and engage past, current, and potential sponsors/members/donors of MotCP. 

• Assists in the development of creating and writing grant proposals, narratives, and final reports.

• A bachelor’s degree is required. 

• 5 years of related work experience in member/donor cultivation and quantifiable success in fundraising is required.  

• Experience with donor management software preferred. 

• Ability to work independently in a detail-oriented manner. 

• Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.  

• A demonstrated commitment to preserve and protect the history, culture, and 

stories of the Cherokees.   

• Reports directly to the Director of Finance but works closely with the entire Executive Team.  

• Other administrative duties may be assigned as needed by the Executive Director.   

• Most responsibilities of this position can be performed remotely. However, there will be responsibilities that must be completed on site.
